Effectiveness: Team Struggles - Team Member Struggles.
For those
teams who are not functioning at their optimum, I utilise an Emotional
Intelligent* instrument to focus effort and attention on their
challenges; this provides an opportunity for the group to move
forward and achieve enhanced individual and team resolution.
*Identifying
the issues within the team across seven dimensions:
1. Motivation
and Commitment
2. Conflict Handling
3. Team Climate
4. Self Management
5. Relationship Management
6. Openness of Communication
7. Tolerance of Differences
An
alternative method I use is Appreciative Inquiry. "A facilitation
technique that focuses on positive experiences and is a strengths
based approach."
There are
two valid options teams pursue in an attempt to optimise performance:
1 Enjoy some team bonding and team work activities designed to
develop relationships and break down barriers.
2 Work directly on the challenges faced within the team
- Team Effectiveness, this is the arena I specialise in.
